The Learning Partnership has developed an assessment to measure student learning from the Kennedy Launch Academy Simulation System (KLASS), which is a simulation of shuttle launch operations during the countdown to launch.. The assessment focuses on the three main roles that students can play in KLASS: biomedical, engine/external tank, and weather. The assessment was created using a combination of publicly released state test questions (Note: The source is cited after each question.) and questions directly related to KLASS. These assessments are well suited to measure the extent to which students learned from both the preparatory curriculum as well as the launch experience itself. The assessment has 27 questions and takes about 30 minutes to complete. The assessment available as a downloadable Word version that be modified and printed out. In addition, the assessment is available in an online format. If you have any questions, would like a copy of the answer key, or would like to set up an online account, email Jennifer Witers.
